A Story : Iain Archer
Frequently influenced by the music being played in his studio while creating his abstract pieces, Ken was introduced to Iain's music through a mutual friend, Angela Dorgan of
firstmusiccontact.com.
After visiting
Iain's website and hearing the first few notes of
"Everything I've Got", Ken felt an overwhelming urge to put the emotions he felt while listen to the song, onto canvas. While preparing the canvas, the word "Face" kept popping into his head. Ken wrote the word down on a piece of paper and then promptly forgot about it. After 16 hours of continous painting, while listening to the song, Ken sat back to watch his work dry (which is something he likes to do with every new piece). It was only then that he began to see a form taking shape. As the paint dried, the image of a face appeared.
On one of her regular visits to Ken's studio, Angela was shown the painting while the song played in the background. Angela was overcome with emotion and insisted that Iain should see the painting. On a visit to the States, Angela met Iain, who was on tour there at the time and related the story of the painting.
The painting is now hanging on Iain's wall in his home in London.
