Artist's Statement
"I was born in south inner city Dublin. From an early age I developed a passion for music that I later translated into art. I am a self-taught artist and have been painting full time for the past 10 years.""I always had a fascination with the physical 'art' of the written word and so began to study calligraphy. As I experimented with calligraphy, ideas for paintings came. Collaboration between calligraphy and abstract art developed and my first piece (which I still have) is entitled 'Words'. To me this is a very personal piece, "it represents the protection and love from within the womb, which keep the negative influences of the outside world at bay."
"Music is fundamental to my art as it determines the mood of the piece. "Every piece is an emotional journey and music is the medium, the painting tells me when its finished". For me this is the best moment, I can spend hours watching the piece evolve while listening to the music that has inspired me to create it."
